8/23/2023 0 Comments Aim assist world of warships 7.11Without IFHE, you can penetrate the 16mm superstructure armor of Cruisers. Shells striking anywhere but superstructure are hoping for fires to be set, because shell damage will be zero. If for some reason you are engaging a Cruiser, you have to aim at Superstructure to Penetrate and cause shell damage, because the vast majority of Cruiser armor will defeat your shells. The sad part is that 113mm + IFHE will still be defeated by 25mm armor. But 25mm is a very common armor value for Cruisers in this tier range and I consider it to be the standard minimum (RN CLs here are paper armored). USN & German CAs in Tier VIII-X have 27mm bows. Many Cruisers even in Tier X sport 25mm hulls, decks. Of course, Khabarovsk laughs in 50mm armor. Taking IFHE will enable 113mm RN DDs penetrate both hull and superstructure against Tier X DDs. Without IFHE, RN DD 113mm has to aim for superstructure hits to penetrate because the 19mm DD hulls are too thick and will cause non-pens for 113mm HE. The typical Tier X DD has 19mm armor for the hull and 13mm superstructure armor. TLDR: IFHE is needed for RNDDs in Tier IX-X with these 113mm guns. RNDD 113mm with IFHE: (113mm / 6) x 1.3 = 24.48 or 24mm or armor needed to defeat this HE shell. RNDD 113mm without IFHE, according to that link: 113mm / 6 = 18.83 or 19mm of armor needed to defeat this HE shell. That to me is alarming right away and I have never previewed any of these RNDD stats before. ** Disclaimer ** I down own any RN DDs nor have I supertested this, but I'm using what we know about HE Penetrations and armor values of ships they will face to answer this.īoth those DDs use 113mm. Now, is IFHE valuable for the Tier IX-X RNDDs? "Is it better to nerf ATL's fire chance from IFHE to do more reliable shell damage?" The answer for Atlanta's case was, "Yes, it's worth it." Atlanta was more in control of her damage out put as 127mm+IFHE lets her penetrate the 25mm armor / deck armor she sees tons of in her tier range, and be less reliant on fires. I recall many matches where I get 600, 700 hits with Atlanta and only 2 fires were set. Traditionally, before IFHE Atlanta relied on fires to do damage against BBs. IFHE for Atlanta was a big debate when the skill was new. I've had long matches where all I've set is 2-3 Fires for little damage. With her prowess at range and Cruiser reload speeds, she should be burning everything left and right, right? No. My Henri IV has DE, and add both fire starting signal flags, her Fire Chance skyrockets to 26%. Reliance on Fires for performance is building one's house on unstable ground. Is IHFE more valuable on the t9-10 RN dds? If you can’t answer that one I understand. If I prefer to avoid shooting at cruisers from dd (obvious Russian exception) is IFHE a waste and DE more of an essential skill even though RNG will play an enourmous roll in my damage output? Or will IHFE be of any benefit against t8+ bbs not that I get into gun duels with bbs a lot? Seems outside of being able to pen 27 mm on a cruiser ihfe is not worth 4 points. Quick question and a follow up that will stray into the RN dd line
